Rev. Skariah Varghese, is the Vicar and President of the Durham MarThoma Congregation. After his retiement, Achen settled in Atlanta, Georgia. He is also the Vice Chairman of the Carmel Marthoma Center in Atlanta.

As the vicar of the Durham Mar Thoma Congregation, I am deeply honored to introduce this website, a platform dedicated to sharing the activities and spiritual life of our church family. This site will be a valuable resource for our congregation, helping us stay connected and join together in proclaiming God’s word.

Our parish is more than just a place of worship; it is a spiritual family where we experienced our rebirth through baptism and were raised to the dignity of being children of God. Here, our bonds are not only with the Lord but also with one another. In this spirit, we strive to develop a profound sense of belonging, reminding us that we are not strangers or outsiders but fellow citizens with the saints and members of God’s household (Ephesians 2:19).

True belonging calls for a deep, faith-filled fellowship among us. Such fellowship goes beyond simply attending Sunday services; it requires a commitment to our shared apostolic mission. Together, we are called to bear witness to Christ’s presence among us, by feeding the hungry, comforting the brokenhearted, healing the sick, and uplifting those in need.
